Eddie Hart's Profile

Eddie Hart, raised in Pittsburg, California, at the age of 13, he was seized by the thought of being crowned “World’s Fastest Human”.  Ten years later at age 23, he won the 100-meter finals at the Olympic Trials running the fastest time in the world. Then at the Olympic Games in Munich Germany, after easily winning his heat in the 100 meters, one of the greatest mishaps in Olympic history occurred. The Olympic sprint coach had the wrong time schedule, and that afternoon Eddie arrived seconds late for his quarterfinal race, and was disqualified.

Through no fault of his own, ten years of dedicated training, hard work, and sacrifice was gone in a heartbeat.

Eddie now uses this adversity and his recovery in time to anchor the gold medal 4x100 meter relay days later to teach the power of the Olympian mindset in the midst of extreme crisis and adversity. Eddie’s team-building, leadership and performance workshops provide inspiration and tools for clients in a variety of industries including telecommunications, health and law enforcement. He was engaged by the US State Department to help develop a program for Panama and has assisted programs for Germany, Japan, Kuwait, Sweden, and France.
